Text Box: have made it necessary to shift to a new supplier. To date, the Utility Board has had presentations from three different suppliers in an effort to obtain the best and most economical service available. A decision on a new provider has not yet been made.
MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS
On Nov. 6, voters across Indiana will participate in municipal elections.
A new voting district map for Huntingburg is on display in the City Office and Voter Registration forms are available there also.
Text Box: Construction will begin soon on the last section of Van Buren Street to be improved. This section extends between the railroad (close to 12th St.) until just north of the intersection of Van Buren and Old State Road.
For safety purposes, this street will be barricaded at the railroad and NO traffic will be permitted through. This will include weekends.
Pleasant View residents will need to use Old State Road with no entry allowed onto Van Buren.
Residents living south of the Text Box: railroad will need to enter and exit to the south while those living north will need to enter and exit to the north. Motorists who routinely use this street will need to find an alternate route.
CHANGE IN GAS SUPPLIERS STUDIED
For a number of years, Huntingburg has relied on the Municipal Gas Authority of Georgia (MGAG) to purchase and schedule delivery of our gas needs. As a joint action agency this relationship has been satisfactory; however, legal requirements Text Box: burg.
So, if you are interested about taking on this challenge and would like to know more, please stop by the Huntingburg Museum, located in the City Office, and talk to Loma. He will be glad to show you what has been written, provide a list of topics, and give you other pertinent information. The articles are due by Jan. 2.
Text Box: Huntingburg Footnotes is a publication, now in its 5th edition, of short articles about various Huntingburg topics. In the past, these articles were written by Southridge students and published by the Huntingburg Museum Committee. The purpose of Footnotes is to research and record subject matter about Huntingburg. The Committee would now like to try a new way of Text Box: obtaining articles by having them written by adults.
What is needed, of course, are adults who have the time, interest and talent who would volunteer to undertake such a task. The Committee has a list of topics, which must be about Huntingburg, to choose from but would consider additional topics but they MUST be about HuntingText Box: GOLF DRIVING RANGE OPEN
Text Box: 64 or 6th St.
Initial hours set for the range are 9:00 a.m. to 7:00  p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Closed on Monday.
Prices are $4 for a large bucket of balls and $2 for a small bucket.
The range is marked for 100, 150, 200 and 250 yards.

Text Box: The City’s new Golf Driving Range in the Charles Niehaus Memorial Park is  open.
The first ball hit was by Cleat Winkler, (pictured to left) son of Beth and Steve Winkler (Southridge assistant football coach.) Cleat is a member of the Middle School Golf Team. Phil Buening, a member of Southridge’s Golf Team was also on the practice line. 
Text Box: The driving range was designed and built using city personnel on the site of what was the city landfill. The landfill, which had been an eyesore, is now an asset to this city. The range adds another dimension to the recreational opportunities offered by the city.
